漢詩이야기(68) .. 복숭아꽃, 무릉도원 . . .

복숭아(桃)는 옛날부터 불로장생[不老長生]을 상징하여 사람들의 건강생활에
유익한 과일로 평가를 받고 있다. 지금 온 동네에 복숭아 꽃이 만개하여 연분홍
동산을 만드는데 .... 三國志에 유비와 관우, 장비가 복숭아 밭에서 형제의 연을
맺는다. 그후 陶淵明(도연명, 317 ~ 420)이 도화원기(桃花源記)라는 글을 지어
무릉도원(武陵桃源)에 신선(神仙)들이 사는 이상향(理想鄕, 유토피아)를 만들
었고 당나라 李白(이백, 701~762)이 桃花流水杳然去 別有天地非人間 이라 한
복숭아 꽃과 신선의 세계를 시로 표현했다.
明(명)나라 중기 심주(沈周, 1427~1509, 화가) 도원도(桃園圖)라는 詩에서
啼飢兒女正連村 [제기아녀정연촌] 배고파 우는 아이들 울음소리 이어지는데
況有催租吏打門 [황유최조리타문] 세금을 독촉하는 관리가 문을 두드리네
一夜老夫眠不得 [일야노부면부득] 늙은 농부 밤새도록 잠을 이루지 못하고
起來尋紙畵桃園 [기래심지화도원] 일어나 종이를 찾아서 도원경을 그린다.
옛말에 그림으로 떡을 그리면 조선(朝鮮)사람이 모두 먹고도 남는다 하였다.
복숭아 꽃이 필 무렵이면 춘궁기(春窮期)가 된다. 생계대책이 막연하니 그림이라도
그려서 위안을 받고 싶었을 것이다.
